How long does a stem cell treatment take?

P Written by: Phil Kim Medically reviewed by: Dr. Robert Aki, DPM Last medically reviewed: October 9, 2026

A stem cell treatment at Aloha Stem Cell is an outpatient visit that typically takes about an hour to an hour and a half, including collection, preparation, and the injection. You go home the same day.

The visit, step by step

The visit includes a review of your plan, collection of the sample, preparation of the cells in the clinic, and the guided injection. Numbing is used at both the collection site and the injection site.

Before the treatment

Your consultation happens first, often on a separate day, so the treatment itself is a focused visit. Bring your imaging and a list of medications, and follow any preparation instructions your provider gives you.

After the treatment

You can go home the same day. Plan for a few days of relative rest, with ice and protection of the treated area. Most people return to desk work quickly and to heavier activity gradually.

Plan your day around it

Because the visit takes about an hour, it fits into a normal day for most patients. Ask our team when you book, and we will help you plan the timing that works for you.
