Do stem cell treatments use embryonic stem cells?

P Written by: Phil Kim Medically reviewed by: Dr. Robert Aki, DPM Last medically reviewed: October 9, 2026

No. The treatments discussed at Aloha Stem Cell are autologous, which means the cells come from your own body, usually from bone marrow or fat tissue. Embryonic stem cells are not used.

The short answer

No. The stem cell treatments offered at Aloha Stem Cell use cells collected from your own body, not from embryos and not from donors. This is called an autologous approach.

Why people ask

The phrase stem cells often brings to mind embryonic stem cell research, which is a different field entirely. Embryonic stem cells come from early-stage embryos and are used in laboratory research, not in the treatments discussed at our clinic.

Adult stem cells in your own body

The cells used in regenerative treatments are adult stem cells found in your own bone marrow and fat tissue. They are collected with a small sample, prepared in the clinic, and delivered back to you the same day.

Ask your provider directly

If the source of the cells matters to you, ask directly. At Aloha Stem Cell, the answer is always the same: the material comes from your own body, and no donor or embryonic material is involved.
